Wow it has been 2 years since I updated this blog. Well, alot of things have happened since I've last been on here. J.R is now 2 years old and he is full of life. Lai is now 10 years old and she is maturing into a sweet young lady.
Updated Facts on J.R: He can count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish by himself.
He knows his colors in both English and Spanish.
He loves singing his ABC's and is learning to identify them and there sounds.
He loves Cars, Trains, Balls, Bubbles, and Balloons.
He is strong willed and very independent.
He loves playing and listening to music with Lai.
Updated Facts on Lai: She is now in the 5th Grade and still a Honor Student.
She loves hanging out with her Friends.
She lives on the phone, she would talk to her friends for hours if I let her.
She loves ALL things Electronic.
She loves playing with her brother and spoiling him rotten.
She still has the same best friends since beginning Kindergarten.
If she could she would go to the Mall everyday and shop at Claire's.
The pictures of both kids are from Easter this year (Lai 10yrs. & J.R 18months) and the Gypsy pic is from this Halloween.

Update on the Kids!

Laine: Big Sister
Well she is in third grade this year and she LOVES that she is in the same class with her best friends from last year. She is definitely alot more outspoken this year. She loves playing with her friends, kissing her baby brother, and playing on poptropica and all the other little big kiddie sites. Oh yeah and she became a Big Sister 10-10-10 and she loves her brother so much.
KJ: Baby Brother
He is 3 weeks today and is very calm and semi-peaceful. Right now all he does is eat, sleep, and dirty diapers. He only cries when he is gassy, hungry, or cold. He is full of smiles and grunts and we just love him so much.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well today is Valentine's Day and in just two short days Lai will be 8 years old. I can't believe she is turning 8, it doesn't feel like it's been eight years. I can still remember the first time I ever saw her. She was so tiny and delicate like a budding flower. But now, now she can hold her own. She is determined, strong willed, beautiful, smart, loving, kind, and caring. But most of all she is her own person. She of course has her not so great traits like, being hard headed, stubborn, listening to what she wants to hear, and oh how I love the sassyness. But through the good and the bad I love her with all of my heart. I don't think I'm ready for her to be 8 yet, but there is nothing I can do to stop her from growing up. She loves all things related to Fashion. She draws clothing designs and she wants to learn how to sew so she can make clothes for her dolls. She dreams of being a fashion designer and stylist when she grows up. But with each passing day she is growing up. She loves all things girly and has a HUGE collection of purses. She loves painting her nails, playing in make-up, playing dress up, and at the tender age of 3 she could run in high heels with no problem. I remember wishing for her to be able to walk, and talk, and go to kindergarten. But now I wish I could rewind back to those days and just admire them. I am going to try my best to just enjoy year 8 and not rush the year away. I will enjoy the good, overcome the bad, and love the experience of seeing her bloom into a lovely young lady. So instead of rushing through these last two days, I am going to hold her tight and cherish the last 2 days of her being 7 while I still can. Because when it's gone, it's gone and it will soon just be a memory.

Snow!!!

Well if your on the East coast like me you are being snowed in. During the weekend we got 30 inches of snow and Tuesday (2-9-10) another snow storm is coming and could dump another 10-20 inches on top of the 30 inches we already have. I can personally say that as of now I am tired of snow. Although it is very beautiful, it is not fun shoveling, it is not fun hearing the trees around your house snap in half, and it is not fun that the state has pretty much shut down. I am very grateful that we still have our power and I hope it stays that way. For those of you who are not getting snow I have included a picture that I took mid snow storm Saturday when there was only 28 inches on the ground.

Motorcycle Shoot

At first I was talking to a friend and I was joking about having her pose in her swimsuit on a motorcycle. Well after thinking about it I was really into the idea of setting up a motorcycle shoot. So after talking about it and getting people together I have finally setup an August 16th Motorcycle Shoot. A friend of my mother's is going to let me use his Harley for my photo shoot. He even has a sports car that he said I can use when needed for a photo shoot. I love when I have an idea and it actually comes through in the end. I also bought studio lighting that I can't wait to figure out and start practicing studio shoots. Things are really starting to come together for Mode De Vie Photography!

On Cloud 9

Pink Azalea Originally uploaded by Mode de Vie Photography

Today I had my first paid photo shoot. It was so much fun and the pictures came out lovely. I can't wait to update my portfolio and see my clients face when she sees her pictures.

I have been battling myself for about a year about whether I was good enough to actually pursue photography. Well today I found out that I am good enough to pursue photography. I have learned that I have to stop comparing myself to other photographers because no two photographers are the same. If you put two photographers into the same room with the same model you will have two different pictures and that is amazing. Because if everyone took the same image and had the same point of view then what would be inspiring about photography. So today I vow to stop comparing myself to other photographers and do what I love and capture what I see. So look out for Mode de Vie Photography by: Dorian Ashleigh

Lai's 7 years old Now

Back when she was 3 months old!
Now at 7 years old
Yesterday was Lai's 7th birthday. I can't believe that the little baby I held February 16,2002 is now 7 years old. I remember the first day I saw her and feel instantly in love with her. She was so tiny I thought she was going to break, I was scared to hold her. But it only took me about 5 minutes before I picked her up and looked into her big brown eyes. I knew I would do and give anything to ensure her safety and happiness. We have our good days and we have those days were I want to throw in the towel, but then she comes and gives me a hug and says she loves me and it just makes things all better. I never thought I could love anyone this much, but I do and her name is Alaina and she is now 7 years old!!
Happy Birthday Lai!!
You will always be My Loca Ona Girl!!

UGH...Today is not my day!

Well today is a very busy day. Not only do I have the joy of caring for a sick, whiny, tempermental 3 year old today, the 6 year old pokes herself in the eye with a pencil in school which means she's coming home early. Because of course it hurts so bad and she wants to come home, (Magically it will stop hurting as soon as she comes out of her uniform). Not to mention my cousin is here sick with something, (won't know til her Doctor appt this evening). So I smell like Vicks Vapor Rub and Lysol. My cousin is laid up in bed miserable so I have to play nurse to her as well. I think I am going to go crazy before Friday actually gets here.

Political Chat with the Kids

This is the drink I had after Pinkie left and Lai was going to bed for the night. I wish I would have had my camera near by to record them asking and answering questions. So I took the girls Lai 6yrs. and Pinkie 3yrs. outside to enjoy the beautiful day. Well I decided to ask about politics and stuff. Me: Lai who is our current President Lai: George Washington Me: Close George Bush Lai: Oh Yeah Me: Do you know the two guys who want to be our new President Lai: Uhm, Barack Obama and John McClean Me: Close, Barack Obama and John McCain Me: If you could vote which one would you chose and why? Lai: I would pick Barack Obama, because he isn't a poor sport. So then I turn to Pinkie who is 3yrs old. Me: If you had to pick who our next President was who would you pick and why? Pinkie: I would pick John McCain Me: Ok, Why? Pinkie: Because he can turn into a Butterfly Me and Lai: After we laughed we said ok that was a very good answer. I think for two young girls they are very smart and have their difference of opinions and they have their reasons why and stick to them. A few moments later we saw a Military airplane that flies the tanks and stuff. They asked what it was and what was in it. I told them that it was a military plane that flies the tanks, armor, and weapons to our soldiers. They said why do they need the tanks and weapons. I told them that the Military Men and Women needed them to keep us safe and let us remain free to play outside and talk about these kinds of things. They said Oh Ok, lets finish collecting rocks. I love these two little girls more then anything in the world.

Hurricane Hanna

Yesterday Hurricane Hanna came to town and left lots of rain and floods in the area. Well what else is there to do when it rains except put on your rainboots, grab your umbrella and go play in the rain and mud puddles. *A* had so much fun splashing in the rain and mud puddles. Her rainboots were filled with water and mud.

Last day of Summer

I took *A* out for a mini photoshoot for the last day before school starts. Tomorrow she will be a First Grader. She is growing up so quickly, I miss her baby days. Here are the pictures from her shoot.
